Total Upheaval

Last I posted in May, Lee and I had decided to install light maple cabinets with a cherry crown molding. Somewhere along the process of picking out floors, we made a u-turn. I blame it on the Parade of Homes, myself. Seems the hot trend in houses is DARK cabinetry, not light. And we PREFER dark, but were afraid to install it for resale. Hidey Ho, Neighbors... we cancelled our cabinet order with 8 hours to spare. Quickly, we shifted gears and are installing a dark brown cabinet (cherry wood) with light maple accent pieces. This change, of course, resulted in changes to our flooring, wall paint, tile backsplash, and just about everything. Hopefully the house will look contemporary, with clean lines and crisp colors. We will have a two-tone kitchen... light island, dark cabinets, and two light cabinet uppers for contrast. Sounds goofy, but looks fabulous. No pics yet... will post later
